Grim Fandango Vs The Phantom Menace

Part 2

The bone-wagon pulled to a stop at the Calavera Cafe.

"So this is where you work?" Qui Gon said.

"Yeah," Glottis replied.

The trio walked inside the cafe and a strange skeleton came to meet them.

"Who are you?" the skeleton asked.

"I," said Qui Gon, "am Qui Gon Jinn, and this is my apprentice, Obi Wan

Kenobi. And who, may I ask, are you?"

"I'm Manny Calavera, I own this joint."

"I see. Manny can I-"

Qui Gon tumbled a bit backwards, as if he had been punched in the stomach.

Qui Gon regained his balance and shut his eyes.

"Ahh, Obi Wan, there is a great distrubance in the force. It feels like nothing I have ever felt before! Manny, have you ever heard of...the force?"

"No, why?"

"I think...that you..."

"Yeah, keep talking."

"...are to be...a jedi."

"A jedi? What's a jedi."

"A jedi is an ally of the force. He is trained to harness the force and use it for the good of other beings. I must train you immediately!"

"Master," Obi Wan said, "I am your student. You can not train two students."

"But I must. If I do not, a jedi will be lost."

"Fine," Obi Wan said.

"Come Manny," Qui Gon said. "I must begin your training."

Manny shut his eyes (which very hard, considering he has no skin!) and concentrated hard. Behind him, Qui Gon watched him patiently.

"Use, the force," Qui Gon said. "Let go. Feel the rock, grasp it in your hand. Now, lift the rock. See it in your mind. See it lifting off the ground in your mind."

The rock in front of Manny lifted off the ground. It floated in the air for a while, and then it floated over to Qui Gon.

"Congratulations Manny. You may now have a lightsabre."

"A lightsabre? What's a lightsabre?"

"It is the traditional weapon of the jedi. It produces a line of particle energy, roughly 30-40 centimetres long. It can penetrate just about anything. But now to the next part of your training. Now, let's work on your force push."

In all his training Manny, Qui Gon completely forgot about the Trade Federation Invasion. When he did, Qui Gon, Obi Wan and Manny packed all their stuff and Glottis offered to take them to El Marrow. While on the way, Manny checked the colour of his lightsabre. It was a dark green. When the trio arrived at El Marrow they were greeted by some battle droids. The trio cut them to pieces, and hid in some bushes. Qui Gon then began talking.

"This is entierly, unexpected, they have taken over the whole of El

Marrow. Manny, do you know a way that we can get to the DOD building?"

"Yes, I do. We can go through the sewers."

Qui Gon, Obi Wan, and Manny emerged through the manhole of the DOD building. They hacked their way to the main office level. They checked through the rooms, and found what they were looking for. There in the room, was Queen Meche, and her handmaiden Eva.

"Your highness," Qui Gon began, "you are in great danger. You must leave El Marrow."

"That I will," Queen Meche replied. "I must go to Coruscant to tell the Senate about the invasion. I have a star cruiser at the top of the building. Follow me."

The trio followed Queen meche to her star cruiser. They fought off the battle droids and took off.

As it took off, Darth Sidious looked out at it. He turned around to see his apprentice, Darth Maul, and Maul's apprentice, Darth Domino.

"Darth Maul," Sidious began. "Find them. They must never make it to the Senate."

"Yes master," Maul replied. "Come, Darth Domino, we must hunt down the jedi and the queen."

Maul and Domino walked out the room. Darth Sidious smiled to himself. He was wasting Maul and Domino's time, but they needed some action once in a while.

"They won't even get past the blockade," he said to himself. "Let alone Darth Maul and Darth Domino." He laughed. El Marrow was all his. For this was where Sidious would begin his New World Order. His...Empire.
