Monkey Island II: Return of Lechuck

Guybrush had remembered that moment he had first met Elaine Marley he couldn’t seem to form a sentence or even a word (it was the same with all women). They had married about a year afterwards and they lived on Melee Island in the governor’s mansion. One thing Guybrush had always remembered and yet had always wanted to forget…Lechuck. He had kidnapped Elaine when Guybrush first arrived at Melee because Lechuck wanted Elaine as his wife. Guybrush had tried to save her but found out that Elaine just saved herself. Anyway Guybrush destroyed the ghost pirate captain Lechuck and little about him had been spoken since the pirates were just happy they could sail the seas without worry of ghost ships and ghost pirates. Guybrush and Elaine had settled down and everything seemed to be going smoothly. But that all changed…
"Guybrush?" Elaine asked looking through some governmental papers "Do you ever miss going to Monkey Island?"
‘NO!’ Guybrush thought "Not that much" Guybrush said sheepishly
"I would have thought you would it was a big part of your adventure"
"Yes and where I found Lechuck’s ship that’s something I would rather forget" Guybrush said
"But it’s where you saved me" Elaine smiled
"No actually it was on this island and you saved yourself" Guybrush crossed his arms
"Yes that’s true" Elaine liked to brag about that "Fine but I would have thought you’d want to go on another adventure since you wanted to be a pirate"
"I am a pirate" Guybrush said proudly "a brave pirate"
"Okay dear whatever you say" Elaine snickered "still wouldn’t a ‘brave’ pirate like you want to go on another adventure"
"Well yes I guess brave pirates like me go on a lot of adventures but I prefer it here"
"Fine" Elaine sighed "We’ll stay here but I was looking forward to a little adventure myself but I guess that’ll be different once I’m here raising our children"
Guybrush looked around a little nervously
"Guybrush dear" Elaine smiled "It’s going to happen"
Guybrush scratched his head "yes umm okay errr"
"Okay you can stop that now"
"Will we get off the children topic just for today?"
"You say that nearly every day but fine"
Meanwhile…
"How long have I been here?" Lechuck asked himself "I knew they’d be married by the time I’d got myself back together" Lechuck looked at his one arm it had taken him 2 months to find it.
But he was happier now he knew he could get back onto the surface and track down Guybrush. Elaine seemed a tad less important to him his desire for revenge was far stronger than his love for Elaine he is a villain after all. He had stayed underground in the caverns under Monkey Island so people wouldn’t be so edgy when he returned and he could wander around more without being detected by anyone. He had just hoped Elaine and Guybrush had gone out of the Caribbean or had had children.
‘It would be a lot harder to get at Guybrush with some bratty kid running around Elaine’s mansion’ he thought to himself.
He looked up through the tunnels to the dim light of the entrance "I’m leaving tonight" he smiled to himself. Really he knew he needed a little help first and new victims would be easy to find…
A note from Danielle Mcfarlene: I wrote this story not long after I played the first Monkey Island game which I think I played in about 1991. I was about 12 when I wrote this story, I wrote it at home and showed some of my friends. It was put on a site in 1999 but the site closed down. I did 3 chapters in total.
