A good amount of time had passed since the very last of the Monkey Island
games had been popular, and the Carnival of the Damned had finally been
demolished. Monkey Island went from being a physical representation of all
the is evil to a much lessened slightly creepy island. It was on this very
island that a certain man by the name of Alabaster McGee had a rather short
and pointless while nonetheless weird encounter with a certain talking
skull. This had very little bearing on his life, or any real impact upon
the world at large, but since people will read absolutely anything with
Murray in it, it seemed important that it be written down.
Alabaster was pleasantly strolling along the island. Even after the
Carnival of the Damned had been long since torn down, it remained a popular
tourist attraction for some of the less bloodthirsty and more grogthirsty
pirates. As such, one would hardly expect to trip over a skull, let alone
one with the uncanny ability to speak. Despite this, that is exactly what
Alabaster did.
"MUHAHAHA!" came a half evil, half annoying voice from directly behind him.
Alabaster turned around and came face to face (more or less) with a rather
disgruntled looking skull. The major difference between this skull and say,
a run of the mill skull was the severe lack of a burning candle on the top
of its head. Also, it could talk.
"MUHAHAHA!" the skull laughed again, "All shall tremble before the awesome
power of MURRAY! The most terrifying undead creature to ever threaten
humanity." Murray finished his little speech off with another bought of
evil laughter.
"What awesome power?" asked Alabaster, getting up.
"Well, I tripped you didn't I?" replied Murray, slightly perturbed that the
puny mortal he was talking to had already failed to cower before him.
"Okay you tripped me, but it's not like you did it on purpose, I forgive
you." Said Alabaster.
"NO ONE FORGIVES MURRAY!" Yelled Murray, in his best "evil" voice "I DID
MEAN TO TRIP YOU, AND TRIPPING YOU IS JUST THE BEGINNING! Soon I shall trip
bigger, more important people. I shall roam the earth tripping people right
into the very depths of hell! None shall escape my tripping!"
"How are you going to roam the earth without legs?" Asked Alabaster.
"Do not doubt the dark powers you could not possibly understand!"
Proclaimed Murray, "You shall be the first to die. Yes the first. The first
of many! MUHAHAHAHA!"
Alabaster mimicked Murray's laughter at the same time that Murray laughed.
"I get the feeling you aren't taking me very seriously" Said Murray, his
feelings hurt.
"Oh I'm sorry-" began Alabaster, before Murray cut him off again.
"I TOLD YOU, NO ONE FORGIVES THE GREAT MURRAY, SCOURGE OF THE ELEVEN SEAS-"
"Seven," said Alabaster "Seven seas."
"Fine then, SEVEN -- SCOURGE OF THE SEVEN SEAS!" Murray finished.
"I didn't realize I was apologizing, Murray, I was too busy cowering in
terror. Although I showed no outward signs, I assure you that you are the
most terrifying thing I have ever seen, or ever will."
"Do you really mean it?" asked Murray.
"Oh yes, in my darkest dreams I never imagined any being quite as evil as
you Murray."
Murray laughed an evil laugh again as he rolled out of sight. Alabaster
hurried away.
